About Matt:
I paint based on feeling and emotion.
Lots of energy, movement, texture, drips, splatters, and bold colors.
I like to work on multiple paintings at once so that I can stay busy without overworking one piece.
I turn on some music like Blonde Redhead, Modest Mouse, or Radiohead and just get lost in my own world.
I paint in long, immersive marathons.
I get pulled in and end up painting for twenty hours straight.
It's meditative.
And it's cathartic.
I'm a restless person.
That comes through in my art.
I'm inspired by unusual things.
I love weird art made by weird artists.
I paint and I create because life feels better when I do.
